I'm a programmer and writer. They often go together. Unfortunately for me, I'm crippled by being a lousy typist. I should switch to Dvorak so I have an excuse.

Here's a list of things I almost do:

1. Almost ran a 5 minute mile in 1988 (5' 12"). I have been jogging 3 times since then.
2. Almost got my sky diving license. One jump away, and I ran out of money. Shame, because with a license it only costs like $30 a jump.
3. Almost got my SCUBA license. Did everything except the open water test, because I had a cold that blew out my sinuses when I surfaced too quickly.
4. Almost saw Paris, twice. First time, drove through it at Mach 2 in a taxi ride from one train station to the other. The other time, Air France canceled our flight and shipped us out of the city for the night instead of letting us wander around.
5. Almost placed in the Nicholl Screenwriting competition (the amateur Oscars). Quarter finalist.
6. Almost done with this list.
7. Almost.
