You gotta be in it to win it... or something like that. By listing a mooch, you get the ability to make money. Possibly a big profit. And 5 of those dollars are still yours (we mooch the other buck) to download music, contact singles, tip moochers with cool stuff, etc... If six fellow moochers - people who have to give away their money - tip you, you've at least made your money back.

Why wouldn't I post my content on more popular sites like MySpace?

You should. We encourage you to get exposure to your content by posting it in as many places as possible! If it's making a splash on the big sites, then you've great chance of making a profit with it on iMooch.

And if you don't feel like re-writing or re-uploading your mooch on iMooch, you can simply create your mooch by providing a URL to where it's already hosted.

But I'm not that creative so what can I mooch?

You don't have to be a creative genius like Vermeer, Voltaire or Vigoda to mooch. Post a photo of your kitten and get bucks from other cat lovers. Share a recipe for tatertot casserole. Upload a video of yourself singing along to the Karate Kid II soundtrack. Create a personals ad and make a buck everytime someone wants to contact you. Or, just write a paragraph telling people why you're buck-worthy.

Most mooches are given away for free and most moochers are regular folk ready to give a dollar to anything that they find useful, funny, cool or entertaining. More things to mooch...

Can I post copyrighted content?

Mooches must be original content that you've created. So if you mash up stuff that you find on the web in new and interesting ways… great! Have an original recipe or movie review, but want to grab a picture from the web to promote it… no problem! Just don't post a clip from your favorite TV show or that song from your favorite band. Since it's not something showcasing your creativity, moochers will be unlikely to tip you anyway.

Is this real money, or some kinda virtual currency crap?

It's real. You can cash out when you've amassed a tidy sum and go buy yourself something pretty.

Is this a pyramid scheme?

Nope. You're not forced to give money to any particular individual and you have no inherent advantage in signing up early. You're basically committing to support content that you find interesting in return for the ability to get rewarded by others who feel the same about your content.

I didn't receive my account activation email? What happened?

Though we did our best to remove any references to Viagra and Nigerian bank accounts from our activation email, some spam filters still trap it. So first off, check your bulk mail folders and spam filters. If it's there, be sure to move the message to your inbox, so future emails don't get blocked. If you still can't find it after about 30-minutes or so… drop our support staff a note at support@imooch.com and they'll help you out.
